Company brief

The Mohave County Airport Authority, Inc. (MCAA) is a nonprofit corporation that operates Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport (IATA: IFP, ICAO: KIFP) in Bullhead City, Arizona. The airport originated in 1946 when a runway was established on Bureau of Land Management land to support construction of the Davis Dam Power Plant, and MCAA assumed management in 1979. Major terminal expansion occurred between 1988 and 1991, with Mesa Airlines launching service in 1991. A renovated terminal opened in 2008 and a baggage facility opened in 2010. The FAA contract air traffic control tower opened in 1999. The authority is financially self-supporting. It is governed by a Board of Directors. The airport operates two 8,500 ft x 150 ft runways (16/34) plus Taxiway A, open 24/7. Services include passenger handling, renovated terminal, over 50,000 square feet of commercial space, 24/7 Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting Service, charter flights via Sun Country Airlines, and event space. FBO services on-site are provided by Touch & Go FBO. No scheduled commercial service currently operates. NOTE: This entity is an AIRPORT AUTHORITY, not an aviation supplier — it is a BUYER of GSE/ARFF/baggage/fueling equipment rather than a vendor. Borderline fit for AviationSouk.
