SR-500

The SR-500 is Magos Systems' benchmark ground-surveillance radar and the most widely deployed model in the SR-series. Using MIMO digital beamforming at 5.8 GHz C-band, it resolves targets at 0.4-metre range resolution — one of the finest resolutions in class — enabling reliable classification of people, vehicles, and waterborne targets even in cluttered environments with overlapping returns. Detection extends to 400 metres for pedestrian-speed targets and 600 metres for vehicles or boats, covering over 61 acres (250,000 m²) per sensor head.

The radar scans at up to 8 updates per second and reports range, bearing, and speed for every detected target, feeding the MASS+AI platform which applies AI-based classification to suppress animals and environmental noise. The sensor connects via standard Ethernet with IEEE 802.3at PoE support, drawing only 3.5 W at 48 V — a figure that makes high-density sensor grids viable on existing network infrastructure. With an MTBF of 50,000 hours and no moving parts, maintenance burden is minimal across extended outdoor deployments.

For airport procurement, the SR-500 covers the principal operational case: a single sensor head monitoring a full runway-end sector or a 400-metre fence segment, with adjacent heads providing seamless track hand-off. It operates across -40 °C to +85 °C and is rated IP67, making it well-suited to the high-ambient-temperature, sand-laden airside environments at GCC international airports.
