The Guinault EGA90 is a fully battery-electric 400 Hz ground power unit delivering 90 kVA of regulated aircraft power with zero tailpipe emissions — making it the direct electric counterpart to the diesel GA90. The unit is built around Guinault's solid-state power converter inherited from its 400 Hz engineering heritage and uses Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery chemistry, selected for its high thermal stability, low self-discharge, and inherently lower fire risk compared to NMC alternatives — an important consideration for dense gate environments. Battery capacity scales in three increments — 55, 110, or 165 kWh — by adding packs of six replaceable modules, allowing operators to right-size energy autonomy for their turnaround cycle. At 165 kWh, the unit can service up to approximately seven narrow-body aircraft for more than five hours of cumulative ground power, covering high-frequency short-haul gate patterns. The EGA90 targets narrow-body and Code C aircraft (A320 family, B737 NG/MAX) and is rated to the same −30 °C to +55 °C ambient envelope as the diesel range, meaning it operates reliably in both cold-soak Nordic winter conditions and extreme Gulf summer heat without de-rating. Its compact footprint and leading front axle with low-friction ball-bearing steering give it strong manoeuvrability around congested gate areas. Wireless telematics (WiFi, GSM, GPS) mirror the diesel fleet's remote monitoring capability. For airports pursuing electrification targets or operating under low-emission zone mandates, the EGA90 provides a drop-in operational replacement for the GA90 with no change to the aircraft interface.
