GPS Tracking & Fleet Management Module
IoT-enabled GPS tracking and fleet management add-on for ground support equipment, providing real-time location, utilisation, and maintenance data via web and mobile.
Ground support equipment fleets at medium and large airports routinely include hundreds of individually managed assets — GPUs, ASUs, PCAs, tugs, loaders — whose location, utilisation, and maintenance status are tracked manually or not at all. ElectroAir's GPS Tracking and Fleet Management Module is an optional add-on for ElectroAir GSE, retrofittable via magnet or screw mount, that connects each unit to a web and mobile platform for live and recorded asset tracking. The hardware operates from 12–80 VDC (covering virtually all GSE supply architectures), stores and transmits data over GSM 2G, LTE Cat-M1, and NB-IoT cellular channels, with Bluetooth Low Energy for local access, and supports over-the-air firmware updates. IP66 protection and a -40°C to +65°C operating range place it among the more ruggedised IoT devices in the GSE telematics market. Certified to FCC, IC, and CE standards. Beyond simple location, the platform captures operation hours automatically — replacing the manual hour-meter reading that is typically the basis for scheduled GPU servicing intervals — and provides utilisation data that supports fleet right-sizing decisions. Access control functions and idle-time monitoring reduce misuse and help enforce pre-use inspection compliance. For procurement managers responsible for GSE fleet performance, the module converts a passive capital asset into a connected, data-generating infrastructure component within the airport operations management ecosystem.
