APA-ECO Series — Battery-Driven (Electric) Ground Power Unit
Zero-emission LiFePO4 battery GPU delivering 28.5 VDC for silent, fuel-free aircraft servicing in emissions-restricted or indoor apron environments.
The APA-ECO series is ElectroAir's answer to the growing demand for emission-free ground power — specifically from airports enforcing zero-emission zones, from handlers operating in enclosed terminals, and from military operators requiring covert, silent operations. Two battery capacities are available: the APA-ECO 190 at 192 kWh (up to ten hours of continuous GPU load) and the APA-ECO 320 at 320 kWh (up to seven hours of independent operation). Both deliver 28.5 VDC at 600 A rated output with a 2,000 A peak capability — output parameters identical to the diesel EAR-600 series, allowing drop-in substitution on DC-served stands without changing cables or aircraft connectors. The battery chemistry is lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4), which offers superior thermal stability compared to NMC chemistry — relevant for high-ambient-temperature deployment in Gulf climate zones where battery cooling is a design concern. IP55 protection, a 10.1-inch smart touchscreen with remote control option, and a mobile chassis round out the operational specification. Unlike diesel units, the APA-ECO requires no daily fuel replenishment and produces no exhaust heat — a meaningful operational advantage at gates adjacent to passenger boarding areas. For procurement engineers comparing total cost of ownership, the relevant trade-off is upfront capital against recurring fuel and maintenance savings across a typical ten-year GSE service life.
