Aviramp Lite
Compact step-free boarding ramp for ultra-narrow-body aircraft, operable by a single crew member with no jet bridge required.
The Aviramp Lite is a mobile, height-adjustable passenger boarding ramp purpose-built for ultra-narrow-body (UNB) aircraft — turboprops, regional jets and small commuter types with door sill heights up to 160 cm. Unlike conventional aircraft stairs, the Lite uses a continuous anti-slip aluminium walkway with gas-assisted folding sections and a manually adjustable front ramp that holds the boarding angle to approximately 8.9 degrees, eliminating the step barriers that exclude wheelchair users and PRM passengers entirely. The unit can dock directly against the aircraft fuselage or use a bridging ramp where the aircraft carries its own integral air-stairs.
A single operator positions and controls the Lite via integrated drive controls; power is user-selectable as manual, diesel, or solar/electric battery, with battery runtime of up to 24 hours per charge cycle. The galvanised steel chassis and all-aluminium ramp deck are engineered for low annual maintenance, making the Lite particularly attractive to smaller regional airports and ground handlers who cannot justify a fixed PBB installation or a heavier full-size ramp.
For remote-stand operations at regional and secondary airports — including sun-belt and hot-weather environments common across the Gulf, South Asia and Australia — the solar power option eliminates diesel refuelling logistics entirely. The compact footprint (length 1,047 cm, width 180 cm) allows simultaneous positioning on congested aprons without conflicting with baggage or catering vehicles. The Lite is IATA AHM-compliant and carries the Queen's Award for International Trade (2021).
