Barfield
FAA- and EASA-certified component MRO and ground support test equipment specialist serving commercial, regional, and helicopter operators across the Americas.
Barfield is a wholly owned subsidiary of AFI KLM E&M and one of the Americas' most established component repair and overhaul operations, founded in Miami in 1945. Operating from six US facilities — Miami, Doral, and Medley in Florida, plus Phoenix, Atlanta, and Louisville — it provides in-house test, repair, and overhaul capability across more than 25,000 part numbers spanning avionics, instruments, hydraulic actuation, and electronics for commercial, regional, helicopter, and general aviation platforms.
Barfield's services are structured across five lines: Component Services (direct repair and overhaul), Airline Programs (tailored fleet-support contracts covering inventory, logistics, repair management, and component reliability management), Distribution (parts supply and rotables trading), Ground Support Test Equipment (GSTE) manufacturing, and Rotables & Trading. Fleet coverage spans the Airbus A320 family and A330, Boeing 737 and 777, Bombardier CRJ, Dash 8, ATR 42/72, and Embraer 170/190.
As an OEM-authorised repair station for more than 30 European and US manufacturers, Barfield brings warranty-level repair depth that generic shops cannot offer. Its hydraulic bench capabilities cover servos, valves, selectors, actuators, pumps, manifolds, and accumulators across Airbus, Boeing, and ATR families. The GSTE manufacturing arm produces air data and pitot-static testers, RVSM testers, APU testers, fuel quantity testers, Nav/Comm transponder test sets, and turbine temperature testers — instruments that maintenance organisations purchase independently of MRO contracts.
For operators in the Middle East and Gulf running mixed-fleet freighter or narrowbody operations with Americas-routed supply chains, Barfield provides a US-based component logistics hub with dual FAA/EASA approval, reducing cross-Atlantic certification friction on repaired parts.
